Material Processor II

About the role

The Material Processor II is responsible for all job activities required to support production processes, including machine operation, cutting, sawing, drilling, tapping, grinding parts, prepping kits, and lay-outs to meet customer specifications. The primary goal is satisfying customer requirements of quality, quantity, and delivery in a safe manner while maximizing productivity.

• Visually inspect parts
• Follow all plant safety guidelines, practices, and procedures
• Be aware of activity in the work surroundings and maintain a clean and safe work area
• Properly use personal protective equipment when required
• Maintain regular attendance and have reliable means of transportation
• Perform other tasks as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1-3 years of experience processing material in a manufacturing environment
• Intermediate blueprint reading knowledge and ability to follow work order instructions
• Ability to properly use material processing tools and machines such as drill presses, punches, saws, and layout tools
• Forklift, overhead crane, and man lift experience preferred (in-house training available)
• Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug test
• Team player with strong communication skills
• High sense of urgency to meet and exceed production goals
• Attentive to detail, watching for material defects and quality issues
• Physically capable of standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching, and twisting throughout shift
• Capable of repetitively lifting 25-50 lbs
• Flexible to work overtime as needed, including weekends and holidays
• Steel toe shoes/boots and basic tools required

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in a typical manufacturing environment with overhead cranes and forklifts. The workspace is normally clean but may involve exposure to grinding dust, heat/cold, fumes/odors, and vibration. Housekeeping is performed as needed throughout the day and at the end of each shift. The noise level is typical of manufacturing processes with air tools, grinders, and other equipment. Yearly audiometric testing is provided by the company.
