Job Overview

As a Material Prep Operator, your primary responsibility is to support the mission and Core Values of Hoosier Gasket by preparing materials for production runs on a daily, timely basis. Ensuring that all production orders are prepped and processed to press on time for production, meeting customer demands and quality standards according to HGC guidelines.

Essential Functions

  • Assuring all factory orders are prepped down and to press on time.
  • Assuring that the correct material and thickness are pulled according to the order.
  • Assuring that materials are being prepped down to the correct measurements required on the factory order by using a tape measure to verify the measurements.
  • Assure thickness is being checked before, during, and after prepping stages and according to the HGC Sampling Table for Lot Acceptance.
  • Paying attention to detail and reporting any defects.
  • Assuring that materials are being prepped down for the correct Press Areas and moved to that area.
  • Learning different materials and thicknesses as well as cutting instructions for each press bank.
  • Pulling materials out and into the inventory racks.
  • Loading and unloading materials in and out of the inventory logbooks.
  • Setting up different material prep machines, such as Power Knives, Sheeter, Slitter, and PSA table.
  • Operating forklifts to deliver cut material to press areas.
  • Following written and verbal directions.
  • Correctly filling out paperwork for each run.
  • Ensuring work area is clean and free of obstruction.

  • Able to follow HGC safety and security guidelines when operating and using company equipment and materials.

Qualifications

  • A High School Diploma/GED preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing experience a plus.

Compensation

$17.75/hour based on experience.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 6:00am to 2:30pm.

Location

(On-Site, Indianapolis (Martindale-Brightwood area))

Sign-On Bonus

Earn $200 after your first 90 days, $300 after 6 months, and $500 after reaching your 1-year anniversary with the company.
