API Heat Transfer is looking for a Manual Machine Operator for its Racine location. The company is undergoing a cultural transformation and encourages interested candidates to participate in a culture survey.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor production machinery and equipment
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to ensure equipment functionality
- Inspect products for quality and adherence to specifications
- Record production data including quantities, machine performance, and downtime
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols
- Report equipment malfunctions or process deviations to supervisors
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Collaborate with team members to meet production targets
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent required
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred
- Ability to operate machinery and use basic hand tools
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to work in shifts and adapt to changing production needs
Physical Requirements
- Standing: Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8-12 hours per shift)
- Walking: Frequent walking throughout the production floor
- Lifting and Carrying: Regularly lift and carry up to 25-50 pounds. Occasionally lift heavier items (up to 75 pounds) with assistance or equipment
- Pushing and Pulling: Use of manual or mechanical means to push/pull carts, equipment, or materials
- Repetitive Motions: Frequent use of hands and wrists for repetitive tasks (e.g., assembling, sorting, packaging)
- Manual Dexterity: Good hand-eye coordination and the ability to handle small parts or tools
- Climbing: Occasional use of ladders or steps to reach equipment or storage areas
Environmental Tolerance
- Sufficient vision (with or without correction) to read labels, safety signs, and equipment gauges
- Adequate hearing (with or without aids) to respond to alarms and verbal instructions in a noisy environment
- Ability to work in varying temperatures (hot, cold, or humid conditions)
- Exposure to noise, dust, odors, and manufacturing chemicals
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
