About the role

API Heat Transfer is looking for a Manual Machine Operator for its Racine location. The company is undergoing a cultural transformation and encourages interested candidates to participate in a culture survey.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor production machinery and equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to ensure equipment functionality
  • Inspect products for quality and adherence to specifications
  • Record production data including quantities, machine performance, and downtime
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols
  • Report equipment malfunctions or process deviations to supervisors
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production targets

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred
  • Ability to operate machinery and use basic hand tools
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to work in shifts and adapt to changing production needs

Physical Requirements

  • Standing: Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8-12 hours per shift)
  • Walking: Frequent walking throughout the production floor
  • Lifting and Carrying: Regularly lift and carry up to 25-50 pounds. Occasionally lift heavier items (up to 75 pounds) with assistance or equipment
  • Pushing and Pulling: Use of manual or mechanical means to push/pull carts, equipment, or materials
  • Repetitive Motions: Frequent use of hands and wrists for repetitive tasks (e.g., assembling, sorting, packaging)
  • Manual Dexterity: Good hand-eye coordination and the ability to handle small parts or tools
  • Climbing: Occasional use of ladders or steps to reach equipment or storage areas

Environmental Tolerance

  • Sufficient vision (with or without correction) to read labels, safety signs, and equipment gauges
  • Adequate hearing (with or without aids) to respond to alarms and verbal instructions in a noisy environment
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures (hot, cold, or humid conditions)
  • Exposure to noise, dust, odors, and manufacturing chemicals
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
