Position Summary The Material Operations Supervisor is responsible for warehouse and inventory management of materials and parts for Atlas Air and Polar Air Cargo. They also oversee and provide guidance to the Stores Leads and Stock Clerks. Major Job Accountabilities Oversees and participates in daily stores functions such as shipping, receiving, binning, issuing, housekeeping, and security of technical spares.Responsible for maintaining operational metrics and timely resolution of metrics outside of departmental goals.Manages reviews and audits all activity of Material Operations Specialist. Responsible for developing and implementing staffing schedules.Performs Level 2 receiving inspection functions on behalf of Quality Control to insure that parts acquired contain the proper documentation, conform to acceptable quality standards, and comply with Atlas Air policies and FARs.Assists Repair Department with unserviceable parts review and disposition. Makes recommendations on scrap/repair decisions and ensures condemned parts are mutilated in accordance with company policy.Reviews and resolves inventory and local customs discrepancies/inquiries in a timely manner.Reviews, enforces, and develops processes to ensure efficient material handling, maintain inventory accuracy goals and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.Communicate with Maintenance and HDQ Materials to identify and correct potential disruptions related to parts or tooling for AOG, DMI, MELs and scheduled maintenance.Provides Material Planning with part replenishment and allocation recommendations based on operational needs.Maintains proper supplies and equipment for the safe packaging and transport of aircraft parts.Ensures that staff are properly trained and qualified to accomplish job-related functions, including training in the identification and handling of Hazardous Materials and Dangerous Goods.Responsible for ensuring shelf-life policies are followed in and no materials are used in aircraft maintenance beyond their shelf-life limits.Responsible for tooling and equipment storage, handling, control, logistics and calibration.Ensures that safe workplace conditions are maintained. Responsible for the provisioning and maintenance of safety equipment, including fire extinguishers first aid kits, within subject stores facility.Frequent: lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling moderately heavy weight objects (up to 70 pounds); controlling or driving materials handling equipment in a congested warehouse environment. Subject to call back, standby, and working flexible hours, weekends, holidays, and extended hours. Ability to travel up to 25% or as required to support operational needs. Qualifications BS/BA preferred.Minimum Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in requisitioning, receiving, storing, moving, issuing, and shipping aircraft materials, supplies, or equipment, including two (2) year of warehousing diverse goods in a complex operational environment or an equivalent combination of training and experience.Considerable knowledge of: store keeping and inventory control practices for a wide variety of parts, supplies, and equipment in sheltered and unsheltered environments; computerized inventory records management procedures.Must be able to pass ten-year background check and obtain airport security badge.Good knowledge of basic accounting concepts.Some knowledge of supervisory or work leader techniques.Clean driving record and possess valid driver license. In addition, a range of benefits to include medical, dental and vision insurance, employee assistance program, as well as generous paid time off, and 401K contributions are offered as a part of the total compensation package.
