Responsibilities
- Interfaces with the Commercial team on the planning and forecasting of customer orders to meet shipments
- Anticipate and forecast material demand
- Provide forecast to Commercial sourcing team on material demand by week
- Develop and distribute daily/weekly run schedule
- Maintain optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements and company financial goals
- Communicate with plant colleagues on inventories and anticipated production needs
- Ensure and capture inventory accuracy of downgraded and rejected material from suppliers, in process and post production
- Ensure material storage is in compliance with standards
- Oversee procedures for shipping, receiving and storing raw materials
- Organize and manage deliveries, advise shipment delays and/or information necessary to set up deliveries
- Initiate traces with carriers for proof of deliveries when needed
- Resolve invoicing issues in cooperation with suppliers and accounts payable
- Establish procedures and supervise the annual physical inventory
- Supervise, evaluate and coach staff members
- Ensure that the company's standard practices and procedures are followed in connection with all materials department functions
- Ensure all team members are trained and certified on tools, equipment and quality standards
- Paradigm software knowledge a plus
- Coach members on achieving goals and developing necessary skills that deliver results
- Identify team goals and evaluate team progress
- Organize team meetings, topics of discussion and progress toward the goal
- Adheres to all company and regulatory safety standards and rules
Requirements
- General Requirements: Relationship building, Agility and adaptability, Innovation and creativity, Employee motivation, Decision-making, Conflict management, Negotiation, Critical Thinking, Continuous Improvement
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree a plus APICS certification (e.g. CPIM) preferred
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in materials management in a manufacturing environment
