Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operates a process computer for process control.
- Able to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Able to perform basic math.
- Able to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Inspects each assigned process area for abnormal situations, takes corrective action, and reports incidents to management.
- Operates and maintains stationary equipment and mechanical equipment.
- Reads instruments and logs data.
- Records operations and maintenance actions.
- Maintains an adequate supply of materials.
- Assists in training contractor employees in loading areas.
- Able to use computerized data management systems.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED or related military experience is required.
- Prior experience in railcar/truck loading operations or some relevant industrial experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to push, pull, bend and perform long periods of standing and walking on cement foundations.
- Occasionally required to stoop and kneel.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to coordinate the movement of eyes, hands, feet, and fingers to operate tools and equipment.
- Required to be medically certified for respirator and medically fit for duty.
- Use of PPE required in specific areas.
- Willing and able to work 12 hour rotating shifts and overtime as required.
Work Environment
- Chemical manufacturing facility, in presence of chemicals.
- Occasionally work in tight or closed-in spaces.
- Work outdoors, in sometimes inclement weather.
- Moderate noise-level and environmental vibration related to equipment.
