This role moves material around the plant with a large crane to keep production running smoothly and assists with shipping duties and rail movements in a timely, safe and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

• Start out in banding and packaging coiled steel
• Handle physical, repetitive work and stand on feet for 12 hours a day
• Good hand‑eye coordination
• Mechanical aptitude a plus, but not required
• Competent in basic math and computer skills
• Operate banding tools
• Read a tape measure
• Handle small parts
• Understand and follow the quality policy and procedures
• Recognize quality issues and detect defects
• Read, comprehend and follow detailed production instructions; understand English
• Read and understand bill of material and/or production order
• Distinguish between part numbers and sizes
• Count and label parts accurately
• Follow all safety policies and procedures
• Good safety awareness and efficiency skills
• Oral and written communication skills – including legible writing
• 0‑6 months prior experience
• Forklift and crane license
• Valid driver’s license

Schedule

Shift pattern: 7 am‑7 pm or 7 pm‑7 am; trained on days or nights; rotation of 4 days on / 4 days off; ability to hold day or night shifts.

Pay

Starting pay $19.76/hour plus $1.00 shift differential.
