Material Handlers

About the role

The Material Handler position supports the company's fabrication, welding, and assembly cells. Key responsibilities include stocking FIFO and kitted carts with parts in required quantities based on the production schedule, restocking fabricated and purchased parts in the finished parts supermarket, maintaining organization and accuracy of finished parts supermarkets, coordinating replenishment activities, and performing daily 5S maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Stock FIFO and kitted carts with required parts and quantities based on the production schedule.
• Restock fabricated and purchased parts in the finished parts supermarket.
• Maintain organization and accuracy of finished parts supermarkets.
• Cook up replenishment activities to support production needs.
• Operate a hi-lo (forklift) as needed to move, stock, or replenish materials.
• Perform tasks to JIs as trained.
• Maintain safe working conditions and 5S.
• Comply with regulations, procedures, and policies.
• Communicate effectively.
• Participate in company training programs.
• Work effectively in a team environment.
• Report packaging problems, piece part abnormalities/nonconformance, and unusual workplace events to BU lead person or supervisor.
• Use a variety of unpowered and powered material handling equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks with little supervision.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a current Forklift and Arial lift platform license.
• Basic Computer Skills Required.
• Ability to stand, walk, reach above shoulders and outward.
• Ability to bend, squat and crawl.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

Schedule

• Monday through Thursday from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Fridays from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. when overtime is required.
