About the role
The Material Handler/Water Spider is tasked with keeping workstations fully stocked with materials, controlling the continuous flow of productivity, and responding to Andon lights for shortages.
Responsibilities
- Constantly transport inventory from dock to line(s) and delivery to the appropriate location.
- Maintain inventory accuracy by monitoring shortage boards and keeping in contact with purchasing and receiving to retrieve parts as needed.
- Assist in monitoring long lead time items and off-cycle counts.
- Move no-conforming parts to NCM rack.
- Assist in lifting of large items such as MD cabinets, CM Power Frames, onto trucks/chassis.
- Lightly assemble subs.
- Remove trash and excess pallets from the area.
- Utilize forklifts or manually unload materials to/from pallets, racks, and shelves.
- Update expedite communications boards throughout the day.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Licensed forklift operator or ability to obtain license.
- Proficient with computers, preferably EXCEL skills.
- Excellent customer service skills with production operations.
- Collaborative working environment with effective communication skills.
- Able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Able to work in a non-climate-controlled metal manufacturing production environment.
- Able to work in an environment with noise (using 25 decibel earplugs) at 75 decibels.
- Able to stand for 90% of the shift and walk up to 75% of the time.
- Able to climb 13ft by way of 12-inch rung ladders.
- Able to lift, push, and/or pull up to 40lbs and carry that weight 5ft.
- Able to bend, stoop, and crouch.
Qualifications
Knowledge of Lean Principles preferred. Knowledge of “point of use” inventory, the use of “pull” systems, and NPD processes a plus.
Skills
- Excellent customer service skills.

Pay
Competitive wages starting at $21.50 per hour.
