Location: Covington, GA • Duration: 12 months • Hours: 40/week • Pay: $16–20/hr • Shift: 1st (Thursday–Saturday, 5:00 AM–5:30 PM)
Responsibilities
- Unload inbound trucks, verify numbers and quantities, and stack boxes onto specific pallet patterns.
- Accept materials from other client divisions/departments for ethylene oxide sterilization.
- Verify catalog numbers, lot numbers, quantities, and expiration dates as detailed in incoming procedures.
- Complete JD Edwards transactions using IBM Data Collection scanners to receive product into Regional Sterilization.
- Assemble/build sterilization loads according to defined palletization diagrams.
- Place Biological Indicators (BI spores) into the sterilization load.
- Initiate sterilization load record documentation.
- Locate materials into pallet/BIN locations.
- Operate inventory control system, where applicable.
- Maintain an acceptable work area as outlined per procedure and Quality System Regulations.
- Support buying and selling processes.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2–3 years of experience operating material handling equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Ability to read and interpret distribution documents and operational procedures/specifications.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions from supervisors.
- Good oral and written communication skills in Basic English.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical computations and apply them to operational tasks.
- Good logic and reasoning ability to define problems and find logical solutions.
- Must evaluate and resolve daily issues by exercising sound judgment.
- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; occasionally stand, reach with hands and arms, and lift/move up to 30 pounds.
- Must be free of health conditions that would prohibit tasks requiring heavy lifting, pulling, bending, or prolonged standing.
- Must be willing to work “off” hours as required and with minimal supervision.
- Must be a US Citizen, Green Card holder, GC EAD, OPT, EAD, or CPT.
Work Environment
- May be in hot and humid locations, near moving mechanical parts, high places, or at risk of electrical shock.
- May work with explosive gas, toxic and caustic chemicals, or experience loud noise (e.g., maintenance shop, forklift equipment, construction).
