Material Handler Spinning Department

About the role

Supply material and assistance to the Spinning Department in a timely manner to increase production efficiencies and overall productivity. Work in and promote a safe and healthy work environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintains equipment and materials to manufacture a good fiberglass product.
• Provides the Spinning Department with supplies needed to run production.
• Trains to obtain a clear understanding of the furnace application.
• Performs assigned duties and follows policies and procedures.
• Completes training on manufacturing Instructions, LOTO and JSA’s.
• Works on 12 hour rotating shifts, operating 7 days a week.
• Moves and positions glass hoppers for furnace operations.
• Loads materials into glass elevator.
• Moves finished product to designated locations in the warehouse.
• Aids in preparing for product changeovers.
• Cleans and sweeps floors, walls, rails, and ceiling as needed.

Requirements

• Frequent lifting and moving of up to 10-25 pounds.
• Close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Regular standing, walking, sitting, talking, and hearing.
• Ability to perform tasks requiring frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform assigned duties and follow policies and procedures.
• Must complete training on manufacturing Instructions, LOTO, and JSA’s.
