Material Handler, Senior

BlueLinx is a leading wholesale distributor of building and industrial products in the United States with over 70k branded and private-label SKUs. Our Material Handlers assist with safely loading trucks and unloading railcars in our distribution center. We value team players who prioritize safety and quality of service.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift in compliance with forklift training and safety guidelines.
• Load/unload/store building materials from trailers or rail cars while minimizing damage.
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk).
• Prepare the paperwork required for distribution and shipping of products.
• Perform daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in working and assigned area.
• Assist in periodic inventory counts as requested.

Requirements

• One year or recent forklift/warehouse experience.
• Ability to proficiently and safely use a forklift to transport product, load/unload trucks.
• Ability to understand and follow directions.
• Ability to work independently, at times under pressure.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to read/comprehend sales orders, purchase orders, safety material, etc.
• Detail-oriented and organized, with basic math skills.
• Safe work record and stable work history.
