Material Handler, Receiving
About the role
CTDI is a large-scale Engineering, Repair, and Logistics company that services the country’s largest wireless telecommunications providers, as well as the largest High-speed Internet & Cable providers. A Material Handler (pick/pack/ship) performs manual and clerical duties related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing and delivering a variety of materials, equipment and supplies.
Responsibilities
Executes foundational tasks within a warehouse environment. Specific duties include:
- Packaging, unpackaging, put away, sorting, staging, picking, shipping and preparing units for production
- Cut open boxed inventory in the storage area or on the rack
- Place open boxes on the appropriate shelf of the flow rack
- Walk the length of the flow rack
- Wrap cords neatly and securely, ensuring they are tangle-free
- Assist with labeling, tagging, or color-coding wrapped cords as needed for easy identification
- Consistently meet or surpass daily production and quality goals
- Complete required paperwork, forms, or digital records accurately and promptly for documentation purposes
- Maintain a clean, organized workstation
- Responsible for following warehouse safety regulations
- All other duties assigned, based on the business the warehouse supports
Requirements
Required skills and experience include:
- Capacity to demonstrate reliability, adaptability, and dependability
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Basic computer ability
- Ability to understand and follow directions
Preferred skills and experience include:
- Previous experience working in a high-volume distribution, manufacturing, technical service (i.e. testing and repair) or forward logistics operation
- Clerical skills
- Time-management skills
- Written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications
Educational requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent work experience.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
The role involves working in a warehouse environment with the following physical demands:
- Stand dynamically for long periods
- Use hands and fingers to handle and/or feel; the ability to type, pick, pinch with fingers, seize, hold, grasp or turn with hands
- Lift up to fifty (50) pounds
- Push and/or pull up to fifty (50) pounds
- Reach up and out with hands and arms
- Occasionally required to climb stairs or ladders
