Material Handler - Receiving

About the role

Material Handler - Receiving position responsible for labeling, staging, and putting away of products in our Piperton, TN facility. Accountable for the safe and efficient operation of power equipment and may perform other duties as required.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 4:00am - 12:30pm.

Responsibilities

• Sort product according to material numbers in a safe and efficient manner.
• Efficiently transport merchandise to appropriate aisle for put away.
• Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using an electric pallet jack or other power equipment.
• Use computer equipment for transferring and put away as required.
• Maintain the facility’s equipment and product in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
• Perform daily inspection and minor maintenance on pallet jacks or other equipment.
• Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods.
• Keep appropriate records to guarantee tight inventory control and security.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
• Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.
• Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety and comply with OSHA and MSDS standards.
• Unload containers or shuttle pallets as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year experience in a warehouse environment.
• Knowledge of warehouse and equipment operations.
• Understanding of proper lifting techniques.
• Ability to work overtime, shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to lift product, up to 70 pounds, on a regular basis.
• Must complete or have completed the Fork Truck training program.
