Compensation
$18.75 per hour plus night shift compensation.
Responsibilities
- Operate powered industrial vehicles/equipment for transporting, loading, and unloading raw material and finished product in the bakery meal production process.
- Follow standard operating instructions/procedures, including inspection and safe operation of powered industrial vehicles, housekeeping, and inventory management.
- Operate powered industrial vehicles in all areas of the plant.
- Regulate blending of materials to ensure specified product consistency and moisture.
- Assist with inventory and perform assigned housekeeping duties.
- Spot trailers for unloading and unload both bulk and palletized trailers.
- Perform work tasks in compliance with the site’s Environmental Management System Policy, including following environmental policies, reporting issues, and understanding emergency procedures.
- Operate equipment safely to protect company assets and reduce risks to other workers.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to work with and around bakery waste products containing allergens (e.g., peanuts).
- Ability to read and understand safety rules, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English.
- Must be able to work an average of 50-hour weeks, including nights, holidays, and weekends as required.
- Prior experience operating heavy equipment, forklifts, tractors, or other powered industrial vehicles preferred.
- Ability to acquire and maintain necessary certifications (e.g., weigh master, forklift, articulated loader, skid steer, tractor).
- Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while building strong working relationships.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 lbs.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear.
- Work in wet or humid conditions, extreme cold and heat (non-weather related), near moving mechanical parts, and exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud in the production area.
