Description
The Material Handler is responsible for safely operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to support production operations. This position ensures raw materials are delivered to production lines, finished goods are transported to designated areas, and all materials are properly labeled, documented, and handled according to company safety, quality, and housekeeping standards. The role requires strong attention to detail, consistent adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to support efficient workflow throughout the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts and powered industrial trucks to move raw materials, components, WIP, and finished goods.
- Perform and document daily forklift inspections prior to operation.
- Scan, transport and deliver finished products and materials to production associates to maintain continuous workflow or to assigned shipping locations.
- Verify all materials and finished goods have accurate labels, tags, and color codes.
- Accurately complete raw material usage reports, inventory tickets, and other required documentation.
- Weigh, record, and transport scrap materials to designated areas.
- Compact, bale, and prepare scrap or cardboard for shipment.
- Follow all company safety, PPE, and environmental procedures at all times.
- Report any unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, or product issues promptly.
- Support production and warehouse teams as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

- Must be able to lift 30lbs alone and up to 90lbs with assistance.
- Stand, walk, bend, crouch, squat, twist, and reach as needed throughout the shift.
- Sit for extended periods while operating a forklift.
- Push, pull, carry, and handle materials of various weights and sizes.
