Material Handler/Inventory Specialist - NSWCCD MD

About the role

The Material Handler/Inventory Specialist supports Naval Sea Systems Command’s (NAVSEA) Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) requirements at their research facility in Bethesda, MD.

Responsibilities

• Verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages
• Routing materials to prescribed storage locations
• Storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods
• Rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials
• Examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage
• Removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment
• Operating hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent
• Three (3) years+ experience in warehouse operations, performing physical inventories, using AIT to scan barcoded items, inventory accuracy management, and setting up storage locations
• Relevant experience in identification of materials
• Working knowledge of NAVY Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
• Favorably adjudicated PSI at a T3 level
