Material Handler III GHB Calhoun GA 3rd Shift (Calhoun, Georgia, United States, 30701)

About the role

The Material Handler III is responsible for packaging, labeling, and loading product for delivery to internal departments and/or customers. Duties also include checking material for defects, weighing finished products, collecting and pre-packaging finished product, manually loading packaged material onto pallets, securing material or products for transport, pulling and staging materials as required, placing sleeve on vacuumed rolls, and placing proper labeling on packaged carpet pad rolls. The position requires operating related production equipment safely, recording quality and output measures, and performing general housekeeping duties.

Responsibilities

• Checks material for defects before beginning the packaging process and weighs finished products to ensure high-quality products are delivered.
• Collects finished product and pre-packages it at a wrap/banding/bagging station.
• Manually loads packaged material onto pallets, skids, and boxes, and secures material or products for transport to designated areas.
• Pulls and stages materials as required to meet production demands.
• Places sleeve on vacuumed rolls to complete the final packaging of the product.
• Placed proper labeling on packaged carpet pad rolls.
• Operates related production equipment in a safe manner.
• Records quality and output measures, and completes any other necessary paperwork.
• Performs general housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Performs other duties as required.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED equivalency is preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Ability to obtain certification for operation of powered lift truck and operate safely.
• Successful completion of on-the-job training programs.
• Successful completion of all required health and environmental safety training.
• May be required to use PC and other department-specific database systems.
• Reads and writes in standard English and is proficient in performing basic math calculations such as addition and subtraction.
• Prior experience in a warehouse or as a general laborer preferred.
• Must be an effective team member.
• Good oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with others in the immediate work unit and related support areas.
• Ability to follow simple verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
• Working conditions include hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and noise.
• Requires standing more than 2/3 of the time.
• Requires regular lifting between 60-80 lbs.

Schedule
