Position Purpose

Responsible for performing a variety of routine hazardous and non‑hazardous waste tasks in the movement and processing of various waste in various container size/type. Tasks may include following procedures and direction, performing manual labor, proper usage of PPE, operating mobile equipment (manual and powered), operating fixed/stationary equipment, loading and unloading containers, performing equipment inspections, identifying container size/type, scanning container movements, consolidating containers & material, staging containers in designated areas, and recognizing markings & labels. Work is performed daily in the designated processing area as assigned by leads and supervisors to meet processing objectives for material disposal.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Has mastered all four components (CSB/ADA, TRB, Bulk Ramp, and TSDF) and can work in any area while maintaining operational efficiency.
• Works with minimal direct supervision.
• Understands and follows procedures & processes.
• Recognizes various container sizes, types, labels, and markings.
• Utilizes systems to create processing paperwork or labels.
• Loads and unloads various size containers (totes, drums, tankers, trailers, etc.) using mechanical or manual means.
• Constructs boxes and/or fiber containers, stacks, labels, and loads containers.
• Uses a variety of tools such as impact wrenches, shovels, jackhammers, etc.
• Transports hazardous waste materials from storage facilities within the facility as directed.
• Decontaminates and disposes of empty drums and/or containers according to RCRA and disposal guidelines.
• Assists in completing all necessary paperwork for processing materials, including transportation of materials to and from various locations.
• Performs general housekeeping duties; maintains a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Inspects material handling equipment as directed.
• Assists in loading/unloading hazardous and non‑hazardous waste materials at designated sites utilizing appropriate equipment for which you are trained.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• 9 to 12 months general labor experience.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate through reading and writing.
• Trained in the use of material handling equipment.
• 40‑Hour HAZWOPER training preferred.

Pay

Pay Range: $21.00 to $22.00 per hour.
