About the role

Handles aluminum extrusions and other inventory used in commercial buildings. Individuals in this material handling position work as part of a team to ensure material is received, stored, picked, packed, and shipped to clients accurately per schedule. Receive and distribute material throughout the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that all material is handled, stored, and distributed properly per the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Reads and verifies paperwork, work orders, or work instructions for distribution and storage accuracy.
  • Verifies quality of material and checks cradles to ensure accuracy of material.
  • Ensures quantity and On-time and Complete (OTC) requirements are met.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions.
  • Performs basic computer functions related to data entry.
  • Maintains inventory control and inventory accuracy for all parts in assigned areas.
  • Communicates discrepancies between ordered and received material.
  • Must be cross-trained and able to support all Material Handler I & II roles.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of experience in material handling or a related field.
  • Proficiency in operating a wider range of material handling equipment, including forklifts.
  • Ability to use and accurately read measuring devices (tape measures).
  • Ability to use hand tools (hammer, wrench, level, etc.).
  • Ability to follow blueprints.
  • Ability to read and interpret Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ability to use a computer with basic proficiency (data entry).
