About the role
As Material Handler II (Water Spider), you will work with department personnel to ensure daily required parts are located in the workstation, non-conforming parts are processed daily, and assist with cycle counts as needed. This position reports directly to the Production Supervisor and is based in Shreveport, LA. Responsibilities
- Work with department personnel, Material Handlers, Expeditors, Team Leads, and Supervisors.
- Maintain no more than 1 current corrective action and fewer than 24 attendance points to retain the role.
- Conduct daily inspections of equipment used to move material.
- Maintain 5S standards for cleanliness and part presentation.
- Utilize hand trucks, hoists, powered industrial trucks, and other material handling equipment.
- Identify and process non-conforming material within 48 hours.
- Perform daily location audits.
- Fill carts or workstations to appropriate inventory levels.
- Perform cycle counts and other inventory management functions within assigned department.
- Work overtime with little or no notice.
- Move material within standard time allowed.
- Maintain parts identification throughout the delivery process.
- Ensure parts pick lists are submitted by the end of shift.
Requirements
- 1-2 years of experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- RF Scanner proficiency.
- Forklift certification.
- Blueprint reading ability.
- Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- Willingness to work overtime with little or no notice.
