Job Overview

The Material Handler is responsible for storing, maintaining, and distributing materials for timely delivery to the production schedule. They are also responsible for proper accounting of all inventory transactions. This is an entry level position requiring basic mechanical/technical skills. We will provide on-the-job training to candidates who have a desire to learn and grow within the organization. This is a 2nd shift position that has a schedule of Monday through Friday, 3:00pm to 11:00pm.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Supply operators with material needed for production.
  • Empty scrap, weigh scrap and load onto trucks.
  • Deliver finished product to Packaging department, scan, stretch wrap, create Interplant Bill of Landing and place on truck.
  • Supply Department with necessary supplies.
  • Communicate with Leaders for follow-up or specific instructions daily.
  • Operate manual pallet jacks and moving carts constantly.

What your background should look like

  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Forklift experience and forklift certification are preferred.
  • At least 1 year of warehouse system management skills (ERP) is required.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with other material handlers on shift as well as assembly / production operators.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and carry a maximum weight of 69.5 lbs safely & dependably.
  • Must be able to push a maximum weight of 81 lbs safely & dependably.
  • Must be able to pull a maximum weight of 88.8 lbs safely & dependably.
  • Frequent extension of arms and hands between knees & shoulders.
  • Frequent holding and grasping with hands.
  • Frequent standing and walking is required in this job.
