Material Handler I - Parts Control
About the role
The Material Handler I – Parts Control position at Dover Food Retail (DFR) is responsible for handling production parts, ensuring daily production goals are met, scanning parts into or out of AS400, identifying disqualifying part rejections, and assisting in the identification of parts and part descriptions.
Responsibilities
- Completes daily activities in the work area to ensure daily production goals are met.
- Assures all parts and part numbers are properly scanned into or out of AS400.
- Properly documents part movement into and out of assigned inventory control storage locations.
- Safely moves parts, components, raw material sticks, and finished goods manually or with various work aids.
- Aids in the identification of parts and part descriptions using work order information.
- Identifies disqualifying part rejections due to color errors, damage, improper identification, label or paint deficiencies.
- Reads, understands, and follows Customer Case Build requirements communicated on the A-Order/Work order.
- Sets an example for proper use of all safety equipment and apparel.
- Understands and follows all basic safety procedures.
- All other duties assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 12 months experience
- Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes
- Demonstrated strong and effective communication skills
- Accurate data entry skills
- Able to reach with hands and arms the majority of the work day
- Able to sit, stoop, and/or kneel the majority of the work day
- Able to stand and walk for the majority of the work day
- Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
What are the basic qualifications?
