Material Handler I Job
About the role
The Material Handler works under the direction of the Department Supervisor/Inventory Manager in the manufacturing warehouse. The primary responsibilities include coordinating the movement of assembled parts/products to the next step operation, performing picking/pulling transactions via scanner, unloading, receiving, and storing raw materials and supplies, working with accounting/shipping to resolve discrepancies, verifying material receipt, advising inventory personnel on missing items, following safety protocols, maintaining equipment, and cleaning.
Responsibilities
- Works with peers to coordinate movement of assembled parts and/or products to the next step operation
- Performs picking/pulling transactions via Scanner
- Unloads, receives, and stores raw materials and supplies
- Works with Accounting / Shipping to resolve shipping and receiving discrepancies
- Verifies that materials are received in accordance with packing slips and Purchase Orders (POs)
- Consolidates and organizes stocked materials and makes space for incoming materials
- Advise Inventory personnel on items missing identification
- Follows safety protocols and wears personal protective equipment as required
- Maintains equipment and work areas; cleans and performs basic repairs as needed
- Other duties may be assigned
Qualifications
- Possess basic arithmetic skills
- Possess knowledge of personal computers skills
- Minimum of 1 year of experience using RF Scanners
- Minimum of 1 year of experience operating Stand-up/Sit-down Forklifts, Electrical Pallet Jack, and Cherry Picker
- Uses equipment to lift or move sheets of metal, felt and other material
- Communication and people skills; team player willing to learn
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment (i.e., ability to wear required PPE, work in a dusty, hot, non-climate-controlled environment; with stairs, frequent walking, standing and lifting of material)
- Ability to work off shift hours in support of plant initiatives
- Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in operating stand-up forklift, Electrical Pallet Jack, Cherry Picker and Sit-Down forklift

Pay
The estimated base salary range for this role up to $20.63 per hour. Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience and other relevant factors.
