What You Will Be Doing
- Safely and efficiently transport materials, parts, and supplies to and from designated areas within the manufacturing facility.
- Maintain accurate records of materials and supplies, monitor inventory levels, and assist with stock replenishment to prevent shortages or delays in production.
- Deliver materials to production lines as needed, ensuring production teams have the required materials on time and in the proper quantities.
- Load and unload materials and finished products from trucks, ensuring proper handling and storage to prevent damage.
- Organize and store materials in designated storage areas, ensuring that items are stored safely and according to inventory procedures.
- Inspect materials and supplies for quality before moving them to production areas.
- Report any defects or discrepancies to the supervisor or quality control team.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines for handling materials and operating equipment.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, to move materials efficiently within the facility.
- Record and track material movements, maintain proper documentation for inventory control, and report discrepancies or issues to the supervisor.
- Work closely with production teams, supervisors, and warehouse staff to coordinate material needs and resolve any issues that arise during production.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (some positions may require additional certifications or technical training).
- Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or material handling role preferred.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials (typically up to [insert weight] lbs.) and stand for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail for accurate inventory tracking and material handling.
- Ability to identify and resolve material-related issues quickly to avoid production delays.
- Basic communication skills to report material needs, discrepancies, or issues to supervisors.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to adhere to them to ensure a safe working environment.
- Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment (certification may be required).
- Ability to manage materials in a structured, organized way to optimize workflow and inventory management.
- Forklift certification, OSHA certification, or other relevant material handling certifications.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and production schedules is a plus.
- Basic understanding of inventory management systems or warehouse software.
