Responsibilities

• Receive, fill, and ship products accurately and efficiently, ensuring all products are readily available and necessary paperwork is completed.
• Perform various warehouse functions, including receiving, order fulfillment, product picking, wrapping and packing, stock replenishment, customer will call, and inventory cycle counts.
• Operate power equipment (e.g., electric pallet jack, walkie rider, sit-down forklift) safely and efficiently to locate, put away, stack, and move products to correct storage locations daily. Tasks include stocking, filling bin boxes, facing cartons, checking for product mixing, and rotating product.
• Receive product by unloading trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, or by hand. Inspect freight for damage, verify quantities, check shipments against packing lists, and complete necessary paperwork for reimbursements or discrepancies.
• Ensure all products have verified bar code labels and readable Johnstone stock numbers by scanning products, printing labels, resolving discrepancies, and completing necessary paperwork.
• Fill orders by picking products, packing items into cartons, stacking them to minimize damage, entering items into a scan gun, and completing necessary paperwork.
• Document the shipment of hazardous materials by labeling cartons correctly and completing required paperwork.
• Prepare orders for shipment by palletizing, wrapping, loading pallets and pieces into trucks, and placing packing lists in the last skid.
• Maintain accuracy and efficiency standards, follow standard operating procedures, and participate in inventory cycle counts and related projects.
• Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to safety rules, maintaining equipment, and keeping the work area clean. Report safety or maintenance concerns promptly and wear protective equipment as required.
• Access Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) as needed and maintain required certifications (e.g., hazardous materials, forklift).
• Maintain professional and courteous communication with customers and coworkers.
• Perform all other duties as assigned, adhering to company values and offering support wherever necessary to ensure success.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; 0–1 year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Preferred: Experience with pickers, forklifts, RF scanners, and inventory management systems. Knowledge of the HVAC wholesale industry, principles, and practices. Previous experience with OSHA and safety regulations.
• Forklift certification required or willingness to obtain it on the job.
• Ability to read, add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to work safely, lift, push, pull, and maneuver large/heavy products or equipment within established safety guidelines.
• Ability to follow instructions and procedures, organize and prioritize work, and attend to details.
• Ability to work in a team-based environment and complete routine paperwork.
• Proficiency in using necessary technology, such as RF equipment and ERP software.
• English proficiency (written and spoken) is required due to the nature of the work, safety regulations, and communication needs.

Physical Demands

• Ability to sit, stand, and walk on a concrete floor for much of the workday.
• Regularly required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Frequently lift and carry and/or move up to 50 pounds; lift heavier weights with mechanical assistance or team support.
• For driving duties (if applicable), ability to sit for long periods and tolerate bouncing and vibration.
• Frequent talking or hearing required.
• Special vision requirements include near vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and color vision.
