About the Role
The purpose of this position is to carry out assigned duties, primarily focused on material handling within the FBZ department but support all departmental needs as business demands require.
Responsibilities
- Deliver materials systematically and physically to various locations within the plant in a timely manner.
- Handle inventory control procedures not limited to picking, receiving, stocking, and delivery to the correct destinations.
- Read, understand, and execute daily pick lists.
- Count and examine items for conformance to company specifications.
- Verify accuracy of inventory by count, location and item.
- Operate handheld scanners or tablets and perform all required transactions.
- Operate a side loader and reach truck.
- Unload and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages and correspond with the profile group to rectify damages and shortages.
- Load and unload materials onto or from profile pallets by hand.
- Communicate effectively with fellow employees.
- Constant lifting in excess of 20 pounds; stooping, bending and kneeling.
- Stand for a minimum of eight (8) hours.
- Operate a stand up side loader or reach truck to move materials from storage or work sites to designated areas.
Requirements
- High School diploma/GED (minimum)
- Ability to recognize similarities and differences between profiles
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
- Knowledge of inventory procedures and transactions
- Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
- Vigilance about safety
- Quality-conscious, oriented to excellence
Physical Demands
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision and peripheral vision.
- Regularly required to stand; walk and talk or hear.
- Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Work Environment
- May be required to wear appropriate safety protective equipment at the proper times and in the proper environments as outlined by safety program rules.
- Noise level is usually loud.
- Frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
- Occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather), fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outdoor weather conditions and vibration.
Pay
The hourly pay range for this position ranges from $17.88 - $21.53, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
