Location: San Diego, CA • 3-month contract (W2) • 40 hours/week • US Citizens or Green-Card holders only
About the role
Operate forklifts, conveyors, cranes, handcarts, and power trucks to move materials, parts, assemblies, and finished goods within a medical-device plant, office, or warehouse. Maintain records and follow established standard operating procedures and quality guidelines under general to limited supervision.
Responsibilities
- Move materials, parts, assemblies, and finished products using various material-handling equipment.
- Develop and apply basic skills in one process or method area.
- Complete routine tasks consisting of prescribed steps.
- Maintain appropriate licenses, training, or certifications as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Zero to one year of warehouse or related experience and/or training.
- Basic skills training in material handling, logistics, or manufacturing production.
- Effective communication skills; ability to read, write, interpret English documents, and perform basic math.
- Ability to work in a metrics-driven environment.
- General computer skills.
- Knowledge of RF scanners is helpful but not required.
Physical demands
- Regularly walk, stand, stoop, kneel, balance, climb, lift, crouch, reach, pull, push, grasp, talk, hear, and twist.
- Frequent use of hands to finger, handle, feel, pick, or type, including repetitive motion of wrists, hands, or fingers.
- Lift and/or move objects over 50 lbs.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, extreme weather conditions, and vibration.
- Occasional work in high, precarious places and exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
- Work environment is hot in summer (no AC) and cold in winter (limited heating); noise level is moderate to loud.
Pay
$16–$20/hour
Schedule
2:00 pm – 10:30 pm (2nd shift) with overtime as needed
