Material Handler - 2nd Shift - Urgent Need
Location: San Diego, CA • 6-month contract on W2 • 40 hours/week • 2nd Shift • US Citizens or Green-Card holders only
About the role
Uses a variety of equipment such as forklifts, conveyers, cranes, handcarts, and power trucks to move materials, parts, assemblies, and finished products or goods within a plant, office, or warehouse. May maintain records. Develops skills in basic tasks, techniques, and procedures within one skill area, process, or method. Applies basic knowledge and skills to complete routine tasks consisting of prescribed steps. Works within clearly defined SOPs and/or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines. Works under general to limited supervision.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts, conveyers, cranes, handcarts, and power trucks to transport materials, parts, assemblies, and finished goods.
- Maintain accurate records of material movements as required.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality guidelines.
- Perform routine tasks under limited supervision.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Zero to one year of warehouse experience or related experience and/or training.
- Obtain and/or maintain appropriate licenses, training, or certifications as needed (e.g., forklift certification).
- Basic skills training in material handling, logistics, or manufacturing production.
- Effective communication skills; ability to read, write, interpret documents in English, and perform basic math calculations.
- Ability to work in a metrics-driven environment.
- General computer skills.

- Frequent use of hands to finger, handle, feel, pick, or type, including repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, or fingers.
- Lift and/or move objects over 50 lbs.
- Exposure to work near moving mechanical parts, extreme weather conditions, and vibration.
- Occasional exposure to high, precarious places and fumes/airborne particles.
- Work environment is hot in summer (no AC) and cold in winter (limited heating).
- Noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
Pay
$16–$20/hour
