About the role

Join the largest manufacturer of tile and natural stone in the United States as an entry-level Material Handler with Dal-Tile, a subsidiary of Mohawk Industries. This role is ideal for an eager and motivated individual experienced with basic warehouse functions and capable of lifting up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operate various powered industrial trucks to pick customer orders and convey orders to packing station or shipping area.
• Perform warehouse duties such as pulling/assembling customer orders, checking outbound orders for accuracy/completeness, conducting inventory stock checks, restocking and labeling vendor product, maintaining displays, moving/storing/replenishing material, and conducting daily cycle counts.
• Perform receiving duties including unloading inbound material, processing inbound shipments, stocking material, processing customer returns, and notifying management of damaged shipments for freight claims.
• Operate forklift and order picker equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized facility by sweeping, removing trash, and performing restroom and general office maintenance.
• Maintain a safe working environment by obeying all safety rules and reporting accidents, unsafe conditions, and acts to management.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent experience.
• Certified Sit-Down Forklift Operator.
• 1-year previous warehouse experience preferred.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Good record-keeping and listening skills.
• Accurate measurement capability.
• Ability to understand and speak basic English.
• Ability to work in a safe and conscientious manner.
• Must be Dal-Tile certified to operate powered industrial trucks.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms.
• Required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• May be required to sit, climb, or balance occasionally.
• Must lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
• Average picks per hour: 25, with average weight between 40-70 lbs. Heavier picks (50-70 lbs) constitute 65% of the work shift; lighter items (20-40 lbs) constitute 35%.
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
• May be exposed to a wide range of temperatures.
• Noise level is usually loud.
