About the role
This position is responsible for accurate receiving, storing, shipping, repackaging, and palletizing of product to meet company standards of sanitation, safety, security and productivity.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Pick and pack (order picking and/or assembly of products in less than full case lots)
- Light assembly (assembly of light mechanical or electrical component parts or sub-assemblies that may require the use of hand tools)
- Record storage
- Repack or re-box cases per customer instructions
- Repair and recoup damaged goods as required
- Count all product, compare to manifest and check all shipments for damage, infestation and production code dates
- Report shortages, damages and miss-shipments on appropriate forms
- Sign for inbound shipments when necessary
- Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations
- Efficiently stack and store merchandise
- Ensure that the correct number and type of product is picked
- Compare quantity, labeling and address with order to ensure outgoing shipments are complete and correct
- Transport orders to shipping locations or delivery platforms with material handling equipment
- Sencil, tag or mark orders as required
- Perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking as needed
- Accept signature for outbound as necessary
- Efficiently move product into trailers, rail cars or containers
- Assist in physical inventories and cycle counts
- Ensure proper stock rotation
- Operate shrink-wrap machine
- Charge forklift battery/gas tanks as needed; repair pallets when necessary; clean railcars, trailers, and truck bays as requested
- Maintain a clean neat and orderly work area

Education & Experience
- High school or G.E.D. degree; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
