About the role
We are seeking an experienced material handler with machine operating experience for a 1st-shift contract role (8 AM–8 PM, 3-2-2-3 schedule) at a medical-device company. Candidates must be US citizens or Green Card holders and pass an on-site eye exam (20/30 or better vision plus color test).
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts, conveyors, cranes, handcarts, and power trucks to move materials, parts, assemblies, and finished goods within the plant, office, or warehouse.
- Maintain records of material movements.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality guidelines.
- Perform routine tasks under general to limited supervision.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 0–1 year of warehouse or related experience/training.
- Basic skills in material handling, logistics, or manufacturing production.
- Effective communication skills; ability to read, write, and interpret English documents and perform basic math.
- General computer skills; familiarity with RF scanners is helpful.
- Ability to work in a metrics-driven environment.
- Must obtain/maintain required licenses, training, or certifications.
- Preferred: stand-up lift truck experience.
Physical demands
- Regularly walk, stand, stoop, kneel, balance, climb, lift, crouch, reach, pull, push, grasp, talk, hear, and twist.
- Frequent use of hands for repetitive motions (finger, handle, feel, pick, type).
- Lift and/or move objects over 50 lbs.
- Work near moving mechanical parts, in extreme weather, and with vibration.
- Occasional exposure to high/precarious places, fumes, or airborne particles.
- Work environment is hot in summer (no AC) and cold in winter (limited heating); noise level is moderate to loud.
