Material Handler/ Class A Driver

About the role

The material handler receiving position is responsible for the incoming of material, managing inventory, and maintaining plant organization.

Responsibilities

• Load/unload trucks.
• Verify incoming materials.
• Data entry.
• Plant organization.
• Participate in month-end inventory.
• Maintain accurate inventory counts in AS/400.
• Manage materials in multiple locations.
• Release materials from vendors.
• Issue purchase orders.
• Cycle count materials.
• Take responsibility for work area to produce a safe and quality food product.
• Report all food safety and quality-related problems to your manager and to the QA department to initiate immediate action.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; or 1 to 3 months' experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Class A driver's license.
• Lift Truck Certification (walk-behind and rider).
• Ability to print and speak simple English sentences.
• Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with tens and hundreds.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions and deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
