Material Handler/Chip Spinner

Responsibilities

• Unload raw material shipments from delivery trucks.
• Work closely with quality associates for proper paperwork and material tagging.
• Request stock for machines operated by machine operators.
• Load material racks as needed utilizing cranes/forklifts.
• Operate automatic chip crusher or semi-automatic chip spinner to spin oil or water-soluble oil from metal chips and shavings.
• Maintain a clean work area, and perform preventive maintenance as needed on processing equipment.

Requirements

• 2 to 4 years of Forklift, Crane Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively communicate information with managers and other employees, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• The employee frequently is required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance.
