MATERIAL HANDLER - Chainsaw

Duties/Responsibilities

• Cut product to specified dimensions for shipping
• Verify the accuracy of the quantity and quality of incoming and outgoing deliveries
• Label/Scan every product and put it away accordingly
• Pick and pack materials
• Load and unload transport items
• Record inventory statuses
• Ensure deliveries properly match purchase orders
• Maintain a current forklift certification and follow all company safety guidelines
• Handle returns by completing documentation and other required communication
• Communicate issues, including missing or damaged material, as well as material that may have been pulled or received incorrectly
• Keep all material handling equipment in the best condition by conducting regular maintenance and logs
• Cycle count and identify any inventory issues
• Keep work areas neat and tidy
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Follow all policies and procedures in the yard, including sales, inventory, and safety
• Participate in safety training
• Properly use and maintain equipment
• Lead by example, with first-hand knowledge of the area of expertise
• Work well in a group setting
• Written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously

Qualifications

• Experience with chainsaw use and safety procedures
• Forklift certification
• Knowledge of operating other warehouse machinery
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Critical thinking skills to quickly solve issues and/or problems
• Proficiency with prioritizing and meeting multiple deadlines

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds as needed throughout the day
• Climb, kneel, reach, or bend throughout the day
• Must wear safety gear, such as goggles and gloves, while performing work
• Able to operate all equipment on site as necessary
• Able to withstand environmental temperatures (Winter, Summer temps)

$16-19 based on experience
