MATERIAL HANDLER - Chainsaw

About the role

As a Material Handler - Chainsaw, you will cut, handle, move, and store various non-hazardous and hazardous materials within a warehouse and yard facility. The role requires patience, steadiness, and a teamwork mentality while following all company safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Cut product to specified dimensions for shipping
• Verify the accuracy of the quantity and quality of incoming and outgoing deliveries
• Label and scan every product and put it away accordingly
• Identify, pull, and wrap the correct products per customer order
• Handle returns by completing documentation and required communication
• Maintain all material handling equipment through regular maintenance and logs
• Conduct cycle counting and identify any inventory issues
• Communicate issues such as missing, damaged, or incorrectly pulled/received material
• Keep work areas neat and tidy
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Follow all policies and procedures in the yard, including sales, inventory, and safety
• Participate in safety training
• Properly use and maintain equipment
• Lead by example with first-hand knowledge of the area of expertise
• Work well in a group setting
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously

Qualifications

• Experience with chainsaw use and safety procedures
• Forklift certification
• Knowledge of operating other warehouse machinery
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Critical thinking skills to quickly solve issues and problems
• Proficiency with prioritizing and meeting multiple deadlines

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds as needed throughout the day
• Climb, kneel, reach, or bend throughout the day
• Must wear safety gear, such as goggles and gloves, while performing work
• Ability to operate all equipment on site as necessary
• Able to withstand environmental temperatures (winter and summer)

Pay

$16–19 per hour, based on experience
