Material Handler - BDL

About the role

Quantem Aviation Services is a premier aircraft handling provider offering cargo warehousing, mail handling, ramp handling, terminal services, and GSE fuel supply and maintenance services. As a Material Handler, you will assist customers during the shipping and handling process by expediting and routing movement of incoming and outgoing mail, packages and freight shipments for air transportation.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload postal bulk mail carts and containers
• Build up and break down of freight as applicable
• Driving on the ramp
• Properly and safely loads and unloads mail
• Including build up and break down of containers following guidelines
• Organizes mail within the warehouse according to the base storage plan
• Verifies upon receipt delivery from/to customer shipment pieces, weight, dimensions and airworthiness

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English
• Must be able to verbally direct in English

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Skills

• Intermediate computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
• Maintain and treat all information as confidential
• Possess the tact to deal with all levels of employees and client representatives
