About the role
Wavepoint is a 3PL provider built on customer-driven logistics solutions. As a Material Handler, you will operate a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, count, unload, and load merchandise within the warehouse. You will also assist in unstacking, packing, shrink wrapping, and restacking pallets to create display packs for customers. The role requires strict adherence to Wavepoint Warehousing's operational and safety policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Inspect trailers and inbound materials for signs of shipment damage, contamination, and infestation; report any damages to supervision.
- Verify quantities, lot numbers, and production code dates against manifests and driver documents; report any shortages, misplacements, or discrepancies.
- Unload inbound trailer shipments safely and efficiently.
- Move product to the appropriate storage locations.
- Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring correct quantities, lot numbers, and locations per picking documents.
- Perform picking duties efficiently to meet customer service standards.
- Inspect outbound trailers and materials for damage, contamination, or infestation; report issues to supervision.
- Safely and efficiently move products from staging or storage areas into trailers using sit-down and stand-up forklifts or other power equipment.
- Inspect equipment daily to ensure operational safety; report any issues to supervision.
- Operate all equipment safely and efficiently, following prescribed work methods.
- Maintain appropriate records and reports to ensure inventory control and security.
- Ensure proper stock rotation.
Requirements
- Prior forklift experience.
- Safe driving operations.
- Detail-oriented and results-driven.
- Ability to stand for 4-8 hours a day and walk for short periods.
- Capability to lift, including occasional heavy lifting (10-60 lbs.), overhead lifting, and lifting from floor level, with body movement in various motions.
- Pushing, pulling, climbing, and balancing (e.g., off forklifts, trucks, docks).
- Bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Must be able to speak, read, and understand English.
- Basic problem-solving skills.
