Role Overview
The incumbent will be responsible for transporting raw materials/intermediates/final products/waste throughout the facility to support production. Main areas of work will include warehouse/production floor/CS & PGM vaults/RCRA pads. The material handler will work with production technicians to deliver raw materials to the reactor train when charging is required. The material handler will also transport drums of intermediate and final product between the cleanrooms and the vault to support production technicians while they are performing cleanroom activities such as milling and packaging. The incumbent will be responsible for retrieving empty totes/drums and staging in the production area for waste drum off. They will also be responsible for moving all waste drums/totes to the RCRA pad and staging them for outbound Hazardous Waste shipments.
Core Responsibilities
- Work with safety as the number one priority while maintaining compliance with Company SOPs and security guidelines as well as 49 CFR, DOT, DEA, OSHA, FDA and State, Federal and regulations.
- Weighing, pre-packaging, transporting of materials for API processing.
- Container handling and moving around the site to support production.
- Bulk solvent tank farm operations. (Filling, emptying, cleaning bulk tanks)
- Waste management throughout the production and RCRA areas
- Staging of containers for outgoing shipments.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in shipping/receiving or related field, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry
- Knowledge of general safe practices for chemical handling and storage and related state, federal, DOT, DEA/FDA and EPA regulations governing the handling and shipping of controlled, toxic and hazardous materials
- Familiarity with reading Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
- General knowledge of chemical safety such as PPE usage; incompatibilities; hazard classification (i.e., flammable; combustible; corrosive; explosive), etc.
Pay
The salary range for this role is $25/hr-28/hr. This range represents a good-faith estimate of the compensation we expect to offer for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity. In exceptional cases, compensation may exceed the stated range.
