About the role

Ultra-Poly Corporation is searching for new team members to join our Production Department in Portland as a Machine Operator. These are entry level opportunities that are supported by a team that will train you to perform in our unique environment.

Responsibilities

• Setting up the equipment for production following the schedule to fulfill customer orders
• Operating large equipment such as shredders and grinders
• Manually loading and unloading product into and out of equipment
• Monitoring, adjusting, and remaining attentive to the equipment in operation
• Using forklifts to transfer material within the production floor
• Executing all safety protocols

Requirements

• Self-starter mindset willing to learn
• Strong work ethic, dependable, and good attendance
• Ability to work a 12-hour shift (7 pm to 7 am)
• Ability to meet the physical qualifications:
  • Lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
  • Stand for an extended period of time
  • Lift, throw, bend, squat, twist, and reach
  • Work in both hot and cold conditions
• Must be 18 years or older and eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
• Ability to read, write, and understand English
• Basic computer knowledge is a plus
• Mechanically inclined with an attention to detail
• Positive attitude and willingness to assist others

Schedule

• Rotating schedule every 2 weeks: 36 hours one week & 48 hours second week
• Schedule includes every other weekend
