Material Handler

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS

Under the supervision of the lead and supervisor, the Material Handler will process shipment request in a timely manner. This role will pull and package composite materials per shipping order requests. This person will prepare shipment documents by working closely with the logistic coordinator to ensure trucks or documents are ready. Additionally, this role is responsible for the shipment documents which includes bill of lading, commercial invoices, and certificates of analysis. Lastly, this role is responsible for ensuring that the inventory/material is properly loaded on the trucks and meet the deadlines set in place by the organization.

Major Duties and Requirements

• Process shipping request in a timely manner, which includes pulling and packing of materials per shipping order documentation
• Print and prepare shipping documentation, which includes bill of lading, commercial invoices and certificates of analysis
• Unload incoming inventory/materials from trucks and move to proper locations
• Load outbound trucks as required
• Ensure safety and housekeeping
• Absorb and assist warehouse and shipping personnel with day-to-day activities as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned by Warehouse Supervisor, Lead or designee

Experience and/or Education Requirements

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a warehouse/shipping environment, previous experience supporting a manufacturing environment is preferred
• Must be familiar with computer systems including MS Office and data base systems (FileMaker Pro preferred)
• Must be able to communicate clearly (written and verbally) in English
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills and the ability to work with all levels of the company
• Ability to operate a pallet jack and fork lift
• Maintain work areas in neat, orderly and safe manner
• Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.

PAY

SALARY RANGE: $22.00 - $27.00/hour, DOE.
