Material Handler

About the role

Reporting to the Business Services Manager, the Material Handler is responsible for supplying raw materials to the press department while supporting shipping, receiving, inventory, and warehouse operations. This role ensures materials are accurately staged, safely transported, and available to support production schedules while maintaining inventory accuracy and warehouse organization. Success in this role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent forklift skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Follow all plant and division safety rules, policies, and procedures at all times.
• Perform all job duties in accordance with required safety practices and designated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and housekeeping standards throughout the warehouse.
• Complete forklift inspections at the beginning of each shift.
• Locate, stage, and supply raw materials for scheduled press jobs.
• Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
• Verify incoming and outgoing materials against bills of lading, packaging lists, and shipping documentation.
• Maintain an organized warehouse by staging materials according to production jobs.
• Inspect trailers and trucks for cleanliness and safe operating conditions before loading or unloading.
• Verify returned raw materials and rolls are properly tagged, palletized, and returned to warehouse inventory.
• Ensure rejected materials are palletized and returned to designated warehouse locations.
• Assist with raw material and finished goods inventory activities.
• Verify material availability for upcoming production jobs.
