About the role
We are looking for a Material Handler to join our VALUES-based organization at our Winter Haven, FL branch. This role focuses on key responsibilities in the Pre-hanging/Pre-finishing operation, including material receiving, movement, shipping, and production support.
Responsibilities
- Receive, audit, inspect, identify, and put away incoming material to proper locations.
- Maintain housekeeping and organization in the warehouse and other material storage areas.
- Maintain accurate inventories by updating the computer system when physically moving materials.
- Assist in assigning production areas when not moving materials.
- Ensure products and materials meet quality expectations.
- Notify supervisor of improvement opportunities.
- Support area needs by removing empty pallets, trash, and recyclable materials.
- Clean parts and pieces using sandpaper, acetone on a cloth rag, or an air hose to remove dust from hard-to-reach areas, ensuring readiness for painting.
- Service the pre-finish line with needed material components, such as loading paint carts with frame parts and doors.
- Assist the pre-finish line area with the removal of completed products to build prep or the stretch-wrap machine.
- Stage completed and stretch-wrapped door products into shipping lanes by loads.
- Load trucks with finished door products as directed by the Production Manager.
- Adhere to forklift, operational, quality, and safety guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- OSHA Forklift certification.
- Previous experience in material handling responsibilities in a production environment.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
