Material Handler

D.W. Distribution, an SBP Brand, is seeking a Material Handler to join our values-based organization at our Midlothian, TX facility. This position operates on 1st shift, starting at 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM CST. We prioritize serving people first and operate with a moral compass aimed at doing what is right, even when challenging.

Responsibilities

• Manually pick and stage correct warehouse items at the appropriate loading dock location.
• Use a hand-held scanner to locate items and move them to the appropriate dock door.
• Move any damaged or non-conforming items to the designated area for reclaim or RTV.
• Operate a forklift and order picker as required.
• Conduct all activities in a safe manner, adhering to company safety standards.
• Meet quality standards by inspecting product as pulled and/or loaded.
• Maintain proper housekeeping and organization on the loading dock and warehouse aisles.
• Strive to meet team efficiency goals for items pulled without compromising accuracy.
• Assist in unloading or loading trucks when necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
• One year or more of forklift operator experience; cherry picker experience preferred.
• Ability to read and understand English.
• Proficiency in basic arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Good hand and eye coordination.
• Ability to follow oral and written communication from supervisors, leads, or coworkers.
• Use of computers is helpful.
• Forklift certification may be helpful.
