Material Handler

Amerhart is hiring Material Handlers for our West Salem facility. The primary responsibility is to perform all duties associated with shipping, receiving, and stocking warehouse material. Team members must help others when workload demands, treat teammates with respect, and perform work safely according to policies.

Responsibilities

• Unload common carrier trucks and railroad cars; replenish product in designated warehouse locations.
• Pick orders using a forklift until the order is completely filled.
• Report problems such as shortages or damaged material.
• Inquire with sales team when orders cannot be shipped as ordered and make changes as directed.
• Use handheld scanner for receiving product, picking orders, loading trucks, and cycle counting in accordance with Warehouse Management System (WMS) processes.
• Collaborate with WMS Coordinator on questions and updates.
• Band, wrap, and prepare material for safe shipping.
• Arrange orders on trucks according to safe weight distribution practices.
• Follow safety procedures and policies when performing warehouse duties.
• Fill orders for incoming customers.
• Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning warehouses/yard.
• Inspect forklift prior to daily operation to avoid equipment problems and malfunctions in accordance with OSHA regulations.
• Cross-train and back-up others in the warehouse.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• 1-2 years warehouse experience required; experience in a distributorship preferred.
• Neat and clean appearance.
• Proven ability to work as a member of a team.

Schedule

1st Shift: 7:30 AM CST until work is finished for the day.

Pay

$22/hour.
