About the role
A Material Handler at QubicaAMF Worldwide plays a critical role in moving product throughout a manufacturing warehouse to ensure quality service for customers.
Responsibilities
- Operate three types of forklift vehicles and equipment: Cherry Picker (most of the day), Stand-up, and Sit Down.
- Operate an order picker in the warehouse, picking parts for orders and packing them into cartons for final shipment.
- Prepare freight shipments by picking, weighing, banding, and/or filming the skid for final shipment.
- Sweep floors and break down cardboard for recycling.
- Read pick lists or follow instructions to determine material or container movement.
- Mark pick lists to indicate picked material and prepare move slips for stocking location transfers.
- Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
- Load materials into vehicles and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
- Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or mark information on containers.
- Secure and move materials from storage or work sites to designated areas.
- Count, weigh, and record the number of materials moved on pick lists or daily production sheets.
- Clean work area, forklifts, and trucks.
- Perform operator-level maintenance on forklifts and trucks.
- Place material in appropriate stocking locations and rotate stock adhering to “First In, First Out” principles.
- Assist in counting material during cycle counts and physical inventories.
Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shifts.
- Use carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other gear to move items.
- Go up and down stairs (where applicable).
- Work at heights up to 40 feet on a mezzanine (where applicable).
- Adhere to strict safety, quality, and manufacturing production standards.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Knowledge of warehousing procedures is an advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders.
- Must be certified to use PIT equipment (e.g., cherry picker).
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to work in a loud, non-climate-controlled environment.
- Standing or walking for up to eight hours a day.
- Must be able to work mandatory overtime.
Work Environment
This role operates in a warehouse environment with higher levels of noise, dust, and activity. The warehouse is non-temperature-controlled, with potential exposure to hot temperatures in summer and cold in winter. There is frequent exposure to moving parts.
Pay
$19 per hour
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
