About the role
The Material Process Operator performs a variety of material-related functions, including inventory control, documentation maintenance, and material handling to support production and customer expectations.
Responsibilities
- Receive, check, store, and issue materials and supplies
- Maintain accurate stock records
- Operate a forklift and motorized pallet jack to move stock, supplies, materials, and equipment
- Pick, kit, and issue parts to pump work orders
- Perform shipping duties related to parts and finished products
- Monitor assigned metrics (e.g., production measurements)
- Communicate defects or problems to supervisors using clear, detailed descriptions for improvement
- Ensure customer expectations for quality and on-time delivery are met
- Maintain production material availability on the line
- Enforce 6S best practices on the line
- Comply with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements
- Perform visual inspections to ensure components are free of defects
- Maintain accurate records and documentation, including bills of lading and invoices
- Troubleshoot issues as they arise
- Plan and perform multiple sequences of operations
- Ship and load trucks using a forklift and motorized pallet jack
- Train new employees
Requirements
- 1-year minimum industrial experience
- Forklift and motorized pallet jack certification preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent
Skills
- Read and understand documentation (bills of lading, invoices, and related forms)
- Demonstrate independent decision-making
- Calculate required metrics
- Read and understand standard work instructions
- Maintain tools on the production line
- Apply 6S principles and maintain them on the primary line
- Train new employees
- Plan and perform multiple sequences of operations on the production line
Pay
Starting compensation for this position is $24.20 per hour. This position may be eligible for a performance-based bonus plan.
