About the role
We are seeking a dependable, safety-focused Material Handler to join our Distribution team in Sparks, NV. This position plays a critical role in supporting warehouse operations by receiving, storing, moving, and shipping inventory while maintaining inventory accuracy and ensuring efficient warehouse operations.
Responsibilities
- Load, unload, receive, and ship products safely and efficiently.
- Operate sit-down forklifts and other material handling equipment to transport materials throughout the warehouse.
- Receive inbound shipments and accurately enter receipts into the warehouse management system.
- Cook up and schedule inbound deliveries for cartons, pallets, and other warehouse materials.
- Pick, pack, wrap, label, and stage customer orders for shipment.
- Load outbound trucks while ensuring shipments are accurate, secure, and damage-free.
- Process and release customer orders within the warehouse management system following carrier pickup.
- Maintain inventory cycle counts and assist with physical inventory activities to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Organize and stock inventory in designated warehouse locations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Interact professionally with truck drivers, carriers, vendors, and internal team members.
- Complete daily forklift and equipment inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and standard operating procedures.
- Absorb other warehouse and distribution duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous warehouse or distribution experience preferred.
- Prior sit-down forklift experience is highly preferred.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or distribution environment is a plus.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to balance speed and accuracy.
- Basic computer proficiency, including experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), RF scanners, and Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with shipping, receiving, inventory control, and warehouse best practices.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.
- Dependable with excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to learn new systems and adapt to changing priorities.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
