Material Handler
About the role
Novolex is a leading manufacturer of food, beverage, and specialty packaging that supports multiple industries including foodservice, restaurant delivery and carryout, food processing, grocery and retail, and industrial sectors. We provide customers a broad array of stock and customized solutions with 120 product categories, 250 brands and over 39,000 SKUs.
We are seeking a Material Handler to join our team in Yakima, WA. The ideal candidate will have experience working as a Dock Worker, Forklift Driver, or Clamp Truck Operator.
Responsibilities
- Work and operate in a safe manner consistent with company safety policies and procedures
- Receive incoming shipments and ensure they are not damaged
- Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders to ensure correct weights, quantities, and specifications
- Receive, document, put away, and deliver incoming packages and shipments
- Tag, strap, and check raw materials for damage and verify correct part/lot number
- Document and report raw material usage and assist in verification during inventory of raw materials and finished goods
- Organize and keep orderly warehouse areas for raw materials
- Troubleshoot and improve daily operations and identify and perform duties necessary to achieve continued improvement in the receiving department
- Sweep and clean resin warehouse areas and receiving docks
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must be or be willing to be trained and certified as a Forklift Operator
- Must be able to read, speak, and write English to complete paperwork and interact with drivers
- Must have good depth perception, hand-eye coordination, and driving ability
- Must wear PPE as required by company policy and work independently
- Must possess strong computer skills with the ability to navigate ERP systems, production software, Microsoft applications, email, and online training platforms
- Must be able to work 10-hour shifts, standing and walking for extended periods, and climb approved ladders and movable steps
- Must be able to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 50 lbs, with occasional lifts up to 100 lbs

Pay
A reasonable estimate of the current hourly range is $19.51 to $24.13, plus a performance-based bonus.
Schedule
Hours will alternate between two schedules: Week 1 - Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday (Tuesday, Friday, Saturday off) and Week 2 - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday (Sunday, Thursday, Friday off). Overtime may be required.
