Material Handler

About the role

MVP is seeking to hire Material Handlers for our Fabrication Shop in Oak Ridge, TN. In this role you will count, weigh or measure incoming shipments to verify information against invoices, orders and bills of lading. You will rout items to various departments and put away stock while operating a lift truck or hoist. In addition, you will investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies while advising management of cycle count issues.

Responsibilities

• Count, weigh, or measure items of incoming shipments in order to verify information against invoices, orders, bills of lading
• Examine and unpack incoming shipments; record shortages and reject damaged items
• Route items to various departments and put away stock items in proper location
• Operate lift truck or hoist
• Verify receipts and log them according to the required procedures
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
• Conduct bin and stock maintenance (physically & in ERP system)
• Advise management of cycle count issues on a timely basis
• Receive all inbound parts & transfers
• Other projects as needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• 1+ year of related experience preferred
• Forklift operations experience preferred
• Ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs up to 2/3 of workday
• Other physical activity include standing, climbing, stooping, bending, grasping, pushing, pulling, kneeling, and reaching
